North Cyprus

If Cyprus is the jewel of the Mediterranean, then North Cyprus is the sparkle. Unspoilt and largely undiscovered by all but the most enterprising traveller, it is a land inhabited by a hospitable and friendly people, whose natural warmth is a reflection of the wonderful climate. Here one can sunbathe and swim in a sea as crystal clear as it is clean and warm. Heroic mountains clad in pine and cypress forests guard the olive and citrus groves that sweep down to empty, pristine beaches.

This island of Aphrodite has so much to offer its visitors that keeps them returning year after year to discover its fascinating historical and archaeological sites, cultural experiences, picturesque fishing harbours and superb beaches. In fact, its climate, terrain and relaxed atmosphere mean that North Cyprus is perfectly placed for walking holidays, historical tours, health and wellness treatments, activity breaks, beach holidays and dining experiences at almost any time of the year.

Government, the EU and investors have contributed millions to the development of infrastructure, bringing roads, communication and facilities to the region, including a 500 berth marina and championship class golf course. These improvements, along with the natural and historical attributes of North Cyprus, make this an excellent foundation for a new destination resort.

The number of visitors to the country has grown each year since 2009 despite the global economic climate during this time. In the main visitors come from mainland Turkey, the UK and many other parts of Europe, Russia and Middle East. Visitors to North Cyprus can fly into Ercan airport to the east of Nicosia/Lefkosia, which is around a 45 minute drive from Secret Hills, or there is a large choice of operators flying into Larnaca in the south of the island; the drive from Larnaca to Secret Hills is simple and takes about an hour.
